About Cyprus

Cyprus, or officially the Republic of Cyprus is an island country in the Eastern medditerranean sea. It is member of European union and has population of around 1,2 millions of inhabitans. It is the third largest and the most populous island in Mediterranean and is more than famous for its great climate, friendly people and location, which offers many options for trips and holidays.

Nicosia is capital of Cyprus and the largest city on the island of Cyprus. It has history of more than 4500 years, what is another reason for visiting astonishing museum in Nicosia. Northern part of Nicosia is the capital of Northern Cyprus, southern part is capital of Republic of Cyprus. European university of Cyprus is located in the southern part of Nicosia, so is admistered by Republic of Cyprus. Population of Nicosia is around 300.000 (without inhabitants of Turkish part of island).

Since Nicosia is located in Cyprus, there are only 2 possible ways to get there: by plane or by boat. Since travelling by sea can be time consuming, we would recommend you to use some of European flight agencies. Nicosia is only 45 km away from Larnaca Airport and around 147 km away from Paphos Airport. University provides special service – pickup from airport.
